The panel will focus on various forms of alternative sexuality, with a particular focus on criminal prosecution of consensual BDSM.  This interactive discussion will review changing societal mores, recent favorable changes in the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) of the American Psychiatric Association and the current state of the law. NCSF will discuss its Consent Counts program to decriminalize consensual BDSM and the group will discuss the issue of consent and practical ways to minimize risks and expand boundaries without violating consent. Attendees will gain an understanding of the legal and social risks facing practitioners of consensual non-traditional sexuality.
